BISLA has a substantial database of people who have expressed an interest in our activities.  There are also several hundred people who have become Members of BISLA which, in addition to showing a commitment to the work of the Association through the payment of annual membership fees, enables BISLA to fund its activities.  BISLA does not have any paid employees.  All of our activities are organised by the Committee, who offer their time and resources at no cost to the Association.

If you would like to become a Member, please Contact Us for further details.

Most of BISLA's events are free of charge.  However, by becoming a Member, you will be entitled to discounted entry to events which have been organised solely by BISLA and for which an entrance fee is being charged.  You will also be entitled to receive invitations to exclusive events, where numbers are limited, including presentations by prominent Israeli and British speakers on relevant subjects.

In order to become a Member, the following criteria apply:

  • Ordinary Members

This applies to members of any branch of the legal profession in the United Kingdom, including members of the judiciary, trainee solicitors, trainee legal executives and pupil barristers.  It also includes members of any branch of the Israeli legal profession who are resident in the United Kingdom.  Members of the Society of Public Teachers of Law and of the Association of Law Teachers in the United Kingdom are also eligible for membership.

  • Associated Members

This category of membership applies to any individual, law student or lawyer qualified in jurisdictions other than in any part of the United Kingdom and Israel who is in the United Kingdom and who has an interest in the objectives of BISLA.  Associated Members do not have voting rights.
